The Pink Parties raise money for the Royal Hospital.
Welcome to R Pink Party...
October is breast cancer awareness month, and as part of this we hope to encourage you to host a Pink Party at home, in work, at school, or somewhere in your community. Your donations will go towards the new Royal Liverpool Hospital's Breast Unit.
Each year around 48,000 women and 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK, making our services more important than ever, so whether you can raise £30 or £300, every penny will be used to make a real difference to the cancer patients we treat.
Your support will help us purchase three new Mammography machines with state of the art 3D technology and two Mammography chairs. This will enable us to diagnose breast cancers earlier, and help us to avoid unnecessary interventions. With earlier, better information, we can reassure patients, save lives and improve the quality of life for thousands of women for years to come.
This year we have Pauline Daniels supporting our Pink Party campaign - you can find out more about Pauline's story in our Pink Party pack.
"Every year, 6,000 patients will benefit from our new Breast Unit in the new Royal."
More about R Pink Parties
As October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, it seems the perfect time for us to encourage local people, places and organisations to host a Pink Party. This year, all money raised will go towards our £750,000 appeal and improving the lives of our 6,000 patients and their families.
There are a variety of ways you can get involved; whether it is a pink themed night in with the girls, a raffle or quiz, a workplace event encouraging others to wear pink or even a football tournament in pink! Whatever it is we want you to be as creative as possible and host the pinkest party in town.
Your fundraising and support will help us buy 3 new Mammography machines with state of the art 3D technology and 2 Mammography chairs. This will enable us to diagnose breast cancers earlier, and help us to avoid unnecessary interventions. Need some Inspiration? There are lots of ways to get involved. There are lots of options and bases for a great party…a night in, a fun day, a charity night or even a sporting event!
It can be as simple as inviting a few friends round for a catch up over drinks and nibbles. You may want to host a coffee morning, a fancy tea party or a delicious dinner; make some lovely cakes and food for your guests to enjoy. Each guest could bring make (or buy) and bring something different…
Why not gather support at work? You can host a raffle or quiz or ask everyone to wear something pink for the day! The men can wear pink socks or a pink tie. You may want to ask someone to make some nice cakes, source one or a few really nice raffle prizes…Don’t forget to ask the boss to buy some raffle tickets!
In the community
You may choose to organise a big party or a pink ball in your community, but you don’t have to plan a big party per se; you could organise a football tournament, a pub quiz or a pink walk…
You may like to encourage your child’s school or club (Brownies, scouts, dance etc.) to host a party or pink themed event like a ‘wear pink to school day’. Or, you may like to host your party in collaboration with a group or association that you are involved with.

How can we help?
Pink Party: FAQs
Can I approach companies to donate products for an event?
Yes! The more people involved and the more on offer the better your event will be. We can provide you with an R Charity confirmation letter to provide to any companies if you are asked for proof of your fundraising activity.
I want to collect in a public place, is this allowed?
You can contact your local shops, supermarkets and pubs directly to see if they will allow you to fundraise in their venue. To collect on the street you must obtain a street collection licence from the local council- contact us if you need help.
What are the regulations for holding a raffle?
The raffle must not include any cash prizes. Please let us know if you are selling raffle tickets prior to an event.
Can I use the R Charity logo?
We are happy for you to use our logo online and on any promotional materials for your event, but three are some guidelines on how it should be used. Call or email us to request a copy of the logo.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid increases the value of your donations and means we’ll benefit even more at no extra cost to you. If you or your sponsors are UK taxpayers, tick the box to add Gift Aid when you make a donation and we can reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift- 25p for every £1 you give!

R Charity : a registered charity
R Charity (Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust Charitable Funds) is a registered charity, charity number 1047988. Registration with the Charity Commission means we must maintain clear accounting records and prepare annual accounts. We must also prepare a trustees’ annual report to accompany our accounts. This is very important to us as it ensures all our activities and finances are transparent and scutinized by the Charity Commission as well as a independent auditor.
Details of the charity can be found on the Charity Commission website here. Simply click on the Search for a Charity page and then enter the charity number (1047988) into the Charity Search Box and you will be guided to the R Charity details.
